It’s time for Johannesburg to taste, swirl and celebrate the most exciting, fastest growing spirit category in the world! A dedicated, two day Gin & Tonic festival featuring SA’s most exciting local gin distilleries and international counterparts is taking place at the end of April, and tickets are selling fast.
The inaugural JHB festival will launch on the 30th of April and 1st of May (with a public holiday on the 2nd of May), from 11am-7pm in the hugely popular The Sheds @ 1Fox in Newtown, Johannesburg. Showcasing up to 18 local and international Ginsmiths, with popular brands such as Gordon’s, Inverroche, Hope on Hopkins, Musgrave, Botanist, Cruxland, Saffron, New Harbour and Bloedlemoen to name a few. Patrons will also be spoilt for choice with artisanal tonics from Fitch & Leedes, Socks and Swaan as well as various food options to compliment the tipple.
If that hasn’t grabbed your attention yet – an excellent list of artists and DJ’s will perform on stage in The Good Luck Bar on both days, adding that extra layer of memorable experience to all attending. The entertainment will include Josie Field & Laurie Levine, The Urban Village, Michael Lesar, Black Cat Bones, Bye Beneco and Half ‘n Half.
Each ticket purchased grants consumers a gin tumbler, welcome pack with promotional goodies and a cashless card to transact with. Credit for your cashless card can be loaded with your ticket purchase or at the many self-help kiosks at the venue. The various brands will each have a taster (half shot), full shot and double shot option available, expertly crafted by the expert ginsmiths and mixologists with a range of botanicals to compliment – it’s a wonderland to explore!
