Our Disco De Moda special guest is none other than longtime favourite, New York based DJ & producer, Jacques Renault!

The post-punk fan grew up in the Washington DC hardcore scene (Dischord is still his favourite label), was exposed to House music as a buyer for the legendary Gramaphone Records in Chicago, and slowly traced his way to Disco and New York City, moving there in 2002.

As a DJ, with a rotary mixer and thousands of records in tow, Jacques held residencies at New York’s famed Happy Endings, APT, Tribeca Grand and 205 Club, and has been a guest around the globe in venues like Tokyo’s Womb, Rio’s D-edge, London’s Fabric and Plastic People, and Berlin’s Panorama Bar.

After nearly a decade of playing for others in NYC, Jacques and his good friend, journalist Nik Mercer, began their own series of events, roving between Brooklyn warehouses, Manhattan ballrooms, hotel lounges and everything else.

The parties were dubbed Let’s Play House and featured guests like Horse Meat Disco, Mugwump, Rub ‘N’ Tug and Tiger & Woods as well as local talents DJ Spun, Morgan Geist/Metro Area and Midnight Magic to name but a few.

In 2012 the parties were extended as an imprint, releasing some of Jacques own music alongside records by Fantasic Man, Toby Tobias, Bicep, HNNY, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Runaway and more.

Runaway, a collaborative project with Marcos Cabral, also founded the label On The Prowl (and OTP Party Breaks), releasing original and remixed work by Brennan Green, Cosmo Vitelli, The Revenge, Azari & III and Tensnake amongst others.

His own music has been released on renowned labels like DFA, Future Classic, Warp, Modular, Italians Do It Better, Permanent Vacation, Defected, Rekids, Southern Fried, Mule Musiq, Circus Company, Endless Flight, Phantasy Sound, Throne of Blood, I’m A Cliché, Gomma, Ed Banger and Rvng Intl.

He has produced remixes for Moby, Arthur Baker, Roberto Rodriguez, John Talabot, Ali Love, Holy Ghost!, Midnight Magic, Poolside, Breakbot, Yacht, Ladyhawke, Lemonade, Woolfy, The Emperor Machine and many more!

Needless to say, we are super excited for this one!

He will be supported by Chris Keys, Andrew The DJ and DDM regulator, Data Takashi.
