Simphiwe Dana & Lira Join Erykah Badu Headlining

In her song, The Healer, Erykah Badu professed that hip-hop was bigger than religion and the government. The genre’s genesis came as a healer to a group of wounded peoples. The subculture was a powerful medium of protest and provided a voice for a ravaged youth. On a larger scale, the same can be said of music and women, and both are in focus for the sixth edition of Delicious International Food and Music Festival.

The stage will feature an all-star set of powerful performances with leading women who’ve shaped South Africa’s contemporary musical landscape paying homage to those who’ve paved the trajectory of our country. The elegant singer-songwriter Lira along with the cultural force of song, Simphiwe Dana are set to perform, joining neo-soul icon Erykah Badu in headlining.

Other acts set to perform the two-day fest at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand on 22 and 23 September 2018 include the Jordan Rakei, Jazzanova, D’Influence, Louie Vega, DJ Oskido, DJ Fresh and more.

Delicious International Food and Music Festival, which has become a Springtime outdoor music attraction in Johannesburg, has also become a firm calendar favourite with foodies where great culinary creatives share their passions at the Delicious Mile: the festival’s Gourmet Street-Food Market.

The festival is brought to you by DStv in partnership with title sponsor, Vodacom. Tickets are available via Howler and passes range between R550 and R1 450. Visit the Delicious Festival website for more information or follow on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to stay updated.
