The past few years has seen a resurgence in the South African music. Locally, we have seen a surge in the quality and quantity of local artists and music emerging, while the dispersal of local sounds to an international audience has become more of a reality than it has ever been. From a global perspective, we are seeing more and more international artists visiting our shores as South African dates on world tours have become more feasible. We are really spoilt for choice.
One of those international artists is The Script. The award winning, multi-platinum Irish trio first visited South Africa in 2011 for the Science & Faith tour in support of their second album of the same name. The band was so moved by the response of the South African audiences, they decided to record the video for the first single off their latest album, No Sound Without Silence, in South Africa.
Recorded last year in Alexandra township of Johannesburg, “Superheroes” is a feel-good tribute to everyone who overcomes adversity to make the world a better place for themselves and those around them.
When booking dates for the No Sound Without Silence world tour, it was probably a no-brainer for the band to schedule some dates to come back to South Africa for a third visit.
“Less than a week to go until The Script perform in South Africa on a three-city tour to Johannesburg on 4th February at The Dome, Durban on 6th February at the ICC Durban arena and Cape Town on the 8th February at the Grand Arena, GrandWest.
