Whenever you think of Cassper Nyovest these days its almost impossible not to think of AKA. The two have been tussling over the past few months for the title as Rap’s Hottest Act.
In rap they call this beef. Some people think that beef is mostly a planned PR stunt which benefits both or one of the acts in terms of public interest. The last of this beef was when Cassper said a friend of AKA allegedly pulled a gun on him before he was about to perform his latest single on SABC.
More new releases and more beef. This time not directly involving Cassper. His video for Phumakim was meant to premiered on Channel O later today. Apparently, MTV Base were having none of that and decided to leak the video on their channel to gain an upper hand on Channel O.
You can’t make this shit up.
Cassper then decided to just release the video on YouTube as they “spent weeks tryna create this moment and it was all stolen in minutes”.
Beef or no beef. PR stunt or no PR stunt. The video is going to rack up a ton of views as a result. Besides for the steezy #TaxiDriver with the setting sun behind him I think the video is pretty boring. In my opinion I don’t think he’ll ever create a video better than the one he did for Gusheshe.
