The genre bending legends ‘SHOUT HEY!’ are back after a week of Fussing about and this time they have treated all the lovely faces of earth and internet with a delicious new hearty tune.
‘Word of Mouth’ was recorded by Mister David Grevler at Anti Motion Studios in Joburg which already infuses a hint of awesome into the veins of this song. The vibrant track hit the net this morning and has bombarded social media across SA. Simply, creating a Fuss. This follow up track to the bands ‘Can you hear me?’ EP evokes an emotion similar to that of nostalgic euphoria. The Two Door Cinema Club influence drips off the sides of this tune and gives it that shoulder-shaking effect music lovers across the globe yearn for. Its vocal goodness grabs your heart while its rhythm grasps your feet. The infamous head-bob is guaranteed if this song is surfing the waves into your ear-drums.
The release date of this track is perfectly planned considering the band hits the Oppikoppi stage for their festival debut in a little over a week. If this is even an eighth of a bite of the show festival goers can expect, they’re in for a golden set at the Ray Ban Top Bar Stage at Midnight on Thursday next week.
The artwork of the single was illustrated by the band’s close friend Rob Crawford. This epic image features an array of personal remarks and characteristics of the individuals in the band as well as all the members combined. It references the band’s admiration for Blink-182, coffee, tea, cats, classy pipes as well as illustrations of the band members individually and the notorious, ‘Tim is Tits’ tag.
