Drawn to the sweet stage tunes, music lovers flock to an unforgettable concert experience, all to see their favourite artists perform live.
For many people, music festival season is the most wonderful time of the year. You gather your group of besties, splurge on a festival ticket, and spend an entire weekend dancing and sweating your butt off, sleeping outside and acting in ways you may later regret. Honestly, who cares?
2016 is coming to an end and summer is (basically) here, and while that means slipping into a swimsuit for some much needed fun in the sun, it also means heading to the magical land of a Place in The Sun with some of the best local talent of the year.
With a killer line-up A Place In The Sun looks to be one for the books. A variety of genres taking the stages, with little sleep and unlimited alcohol, this is set to be a festival that you cannot miss.
With that said, if you want to make it through the weekend, and really enjoy the festival experience, there are some essentials you absolutely can’t go without:
Camera: For all the hipsters that want to take a film camera, just do it! You’ll be able to capture some unforgettable moments.
Sunscreen: You can get burnt quicker than you’d think. Since you’re spending all day in the sun, keep the bottle on you, so you can top up as the day goes on. (I honestly don’t need more freckles.)
Sneakers and Flip Flops: If you’re dancing in sneakers all day long, you’ll be pleased to have a pair of comfy flops to slip on when you’re back at the campsite. Let those babies breathe!
Backpack: Ah, sweet freedom. Your hands love it too. Stick everything you need in a cross-body bag or fanny-pack (which are making a serious comeback and come in all kinds of styles). Now you don’t have to worry about carrying anything but your beer.
Sunglasses: Keep your eyes happy. Outdoor stages can often be in front of the sun, leaving you blinded as you try to watch your favourite band.
Hat; A little sun-kissed is expected, but it is really not fun when you can barely move and have lobster-skin.
Cash: Festival cash machines tend to charge you for use and also have large queues. To save wasting time once you’ve arrive, it’s best to get cash out before you go, but keep it safe and split it up into a few chunks in different bags and pockets.
Festivals are the way people want to experience music and you’ll definitely find like-minded souls getting together to cheer on the good things in life. So it is that time of the day again, where you can win some free shit.

☼ THE BEATLES ☼ “Tomorrow Never Knows”
Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream
It is not dying, it is not dying
Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void
It is shining, it is shining
Yet you may see the meaning of within
It is being, it is being
Love is all and love is everyone
It is knowing, it is knowing…
… that ignorance and hates may mourn the dead
It is believing, it is believing
But listen to the colour of your dreams
It is not living, it is not living
So play the game “Existence” to the end…
… Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning
Of the beginning, of the beginning
