Although the single was released almost two years ago, “Inkwenkwezi” form a part of Maramza’s latest EP, Low Magic, which was released by naas music. Low Magic, as with Maramza’s previous offerings, emphasises his production versatility and penchant for creating syrupy aural canvases for his many vocal collaborators. Moonchild collaborates on the EP’s opening track and fittingly on the starry close, “Inkwenkwezi”.

The visuals for “Inkwenkwezi,” which premiered on Okayafrica are a luminous extension to the tracks nebulous feel, featuring both Moonchild and Maramza seemingly disconnected, but coupled in yearning.

“When you’re in the city, you struggle to see the stars in the night sky; much like how these days there are no real stars – as in personalities and role-models. You keep searching for them but you can’t really see them” says Maramza paraphrasing Moonchild’s explanation of the track.
