The boys are back in town
Beach Party shall greet the paradise of the near in sight season of Summer to a group of nostalgic pubescent-minded grouping of all sorts when they perform at their once-off reunion show at Mercury Live.
Hosted by events go-to party prep authorities Yoh!, the night is expected to be outlined by the theme that got Beach Party so far: perky-fuelled party moods. The band, known for their psychedelic/afro/disco/surf/punk formed in Cape Town in 2010. After releasing their debut album, Neighbors, produced by Arjuna Kohlstock in 2011, the band formed a solid following and began to tour South Africa and play with popular local and international acts. Their live performances soon gained a reputation for being wild and energetic. The following album, For Now We Are Young, released in 2013 and produced by Mike Zietsman, was well received and helped them to join the South African festival circuit playing festivals such as Rocking the Daisies, Synergy Live, Rock The River and Sowing the Seeds. Their self-produced final album, Ribs Or Death was followed up with various tours and headlining performances around South Africa until they decided to move on to different things in 2015.
Matthieu Auriacombe has glorified a live electronic set with Hello Beautiful, while David Thorpe, who became an asset to bands such as Gateway Drugs and The Dollfins, has sprouted a new band venture in Berlin called Jett Screams, who happen to be in the middle of a South African tour, hence the opportunity to get Beach Party together for a night of frolic mementos.

We are proud to announce that one of Cape Town and SA’s favourites,Beach Party will be doing a once-off reunion show at The Mercury Live – CTN on Thursday 20 October 2016 and they are bringing some friends along.
The support acts include Runaway Nuns, Heroine, DJ Eure Mutti (Berlin) and DJ Step On Me Moron (Berlin).
