It hurts, but the pain is good.
It Hz first came onto our radar with the release of the eccentric ‘Maverick’ early in 2016. The project began as a collective of producers who are friends and has since settled as a duo consisting of Chee and Jon Casey.
The output of It Hz suggests that the project offers an alternative means for the two to combine their approaches and explore melodies and moods which may not necessarily fit the mould of their solo outputs. Alternatively, the duo is obsessive about creating music and It Hz offers another excuse to do so.
Whatever the reasons behind the project, we get to enjoy the fruits of their obsession and the latest harvest is the ripe First Of All EP. The overarching sound throughout the EP is dark trap elaborately laden with extraterrestrial field recordings. ‘Teflon’ off the EP also received the Noisia stamp of approval with the producers bestowing the track with the honour of closing the latest episode of their Noisia Radio podcast.
