Listen to Das Kapital Presents Overtime Volume II
Right on the back of the release of his two-track EP with Bart B More, Das Kapital has released the second edition of his South African dance music compilation, Overtime. While the first edition of Overtime featured tracks by various artists under his independent Do Work Records label, Overtime II sees Das Kapital expanding his scope with the opening of submissions to up-and-coming producers and artists.
The opening of the compilation to submissions filtered through Das Kapital’s discerning ear has resulted in a South African dance music capsule which features house, gqom, techno, experimental, deep and midtempo productions on par with global benchmarks.
Das Kapital says of Overtime II:
“[Volume 2] brings together all of South Africa’s dance music scenes, putting them into one album and creating a holistic overview of what’s really kicking proverbial ass in the local, burgeoning scene”.
The compilation features productions by heavyweights such as Haezer, STAB VIRUS and Das Kapital himself alongside equally talented up-and-coming artists such as Sam Mkhize and Rose Bonica.
