Below The Bassline GifIn case you haven’t heard we kind of have a love affair with Broaden A New Sound. One of the primary reason for launching The Fuss was to encourage a discovery of local creative talent – predominantly in the field of music. So you can imagine our delight at the efforts of the individuals behind Broaden A New Sound to advocate the sound of the underground.

One would think that after Broaden A New Sounds enterprising endeavour in hosting LimPOP less than a month ago, the small and independent team would need some time to take stock before hosting another event of such enormity – Not these guys. You get a sense that what these guys do is at first and foremost fueled by their own appreciation of music and the need to share the joy which it brings to them.

With that being said, it is with great pleasure that we introduce to you their next venture – Below The Bassline

Below The Bassline is a night dedicated to the future of BASS & DUB music in South Africa.

After the hot and heavy underground sweat of Style vs Sound with partners Style v/s Fashion and DJ Zharp Zharp (Okmalumkoolkat) and being involved in hosting international acts like Mala, Kode9, Swindle, Cid Rim & The Clonious, Scratcha DVA, LV as well as local favourites Funafuji, Ish, Dirty Paraffin and Richard The Third, Broaden A New Sound & DJ Danger Ingozi bring you the future sounds of Bass music with a healthy dollop of Dub & Roots music at its soul.

We are super excited to have a new home dedicated exclusively to future bass sounds.

The launch takes place this evening at kitcheners and will feature performances by some of the most exciting left of center producers and DJs this side of the equator.

The event will feature live performances by OKZharp, The Watermark High, Card On Spokes and Women Who Kill as well as sets by DJ Danger Ingozi, Hawkword, Micr.Pluto and Rosie Parade.

It’s a Date With The Night.
