Sound Wild Is Back
Coming to Carfax in Newtown on 27 November, for its second annual return is Sounds Wild with not one, but two, world-renowned class acts: Crystal Castles (Canada) and Flux Pavilion (UK) who will, for the first time ever, with local acts such as PHFAT, Niskerone and Pop Art, provide an electronic music experience reminiscent of international quality in JHB’s bustling inner-city.
South African audiences will be treated to what we’re guessing is a whole new offering from Crystal Castles as they perform their first ever show without former singer Alice Glass. This will also be the first time any audience has ever seen the new lead, Edith, featured on Crystal Castle’s two latest singles “Frail” and “Deicide”.
Mad turn up is anticipated as English producer / DJ Flux Pavillion is known to bring fat pulsating bass drops and synth grooves. Joshua Steele better known as J-Steezy (non-factual) has worked with the likes of Childish Gambino, Dillon Francis, Steve Aoki and Skrillex. It would be rad to see if any cross-country collaborations could be negotiated.
Sounds Wild have been known to go the whole nine-yards with last year’s showcase of the show-stopping visual delight that was Bombay Bicycle Club.
Stay tuned, though, ‘cause your experience is only starting with further local acts still being announced. Stay up to speed and get your tickets early – this one’s unmissable!
