Open to both Joburg and Cape Town shows

If you want something specific, it doesn’t come overnight. If you want something timeless, you need to let it soak and move and transition and fit in with all the other roles you adapt to in life. For Thor Rixon, it took two years to make magic. The much anticipated latest album ‘Songs From The Bath’ was released last week. Featuring some of the best young artists from South Africa and Europe, such as Alice Phoebe Lou, Hlasko, Olmo, Itai Hakim and many more – Thor is ready to reveal his sensory poise and technicalities to a variety of audiences.

Thor will be hosting two live and improvised performances of the album which will be held in Cape Town at The Centre For The Book in Gardens on 1 February and in Johannesburg at The Bioscope Theatre in Maboneng on 4 February.

Each intricacy, as simple or eccentric, throws the bones on a future made of sound. This album is one man’s legacy to the making of music. Thor Rixon has superb taste, not only in his creations, but his collaborators too: choosing the ones to watch: the ones that are imprinting their craft on a glocal level. If you’re ready to be audibly aroused and take in all the dimensions and elements of his live set, we’re giving you that opportunity.

One person will walk away with one set of double tickets to the Joburg show and another to the Cape Town show. What’s even better? You get to walk away with a physical copy of Thor’s latest gem: his vinyl, with a hand painted cover by Thor himself.
