Fashion Up | Common Room Sessions

0

On the 29th of November, computer mouses were exchanged for cocktails and desktops for clothing displays as The Common Room was transformed into a fashion pop-up store for Fashion Up. The workspace was a hub of activity, with attendants keen to add fresh summer items to their wardrobes.

As the inaugural creative event hosted in the workspace it shone light on the possibilities of The Common Room as a multifunctional venue. Each workspace in the venue was transformed into a separate stall for each of the designers. Rayne popped up in [room name], PUSH in the Sitting Room, Straatmate in the Bar Room, Jute in the Quiet Room and My Latina in the Board Room.

The music created an ambient atmosphere with the drinks flowing and the conversation fluid. Most importantly though, attendants were spending money supporting the talents of the local designers. Fashion Up was the perfect way to start the weekend, with some even leaving the event in style, wearing the latest additions to their wardrobes.

The way in which The Common Room accommodated this event by opening theirs doors to creatives makes us really excited for the events to follow. With the creative culture burgeoning locally we are going to need more and more platforms like this to accommodate everyone.
