Don’t worry we also use to think that Halloween meant one party on the 31st October. With the amount of  themed partied last week the Halloween Hangover shows in the limited selection of events happening during this, the first week of November. This week however, we are hosting our two monthly events, Why Not Wednesday and Nothing Major. There’s one or two other events you might want to consider leaving your house for a Date With The Night.

Tuesday the 5th

Music is not the sole beneficiary of the birth of the internet age. The art of film has benefited greatly with platforms like YouTube and Vimeo, even more so. The first listing of the week goes to Short & Sweet. Short & Sweet is a global phenomenon dedicated to bringing “people and short film together, inspiring and empowering audiences and empowering audiences while celebrating the medium”. Every Tuesda,y for the month of November, you can visit And to view a curated selection of some of the best music videos, animations and short films globally.

Wednesday the 6th

This is one of ours. Visit the page for all the details. Why Not?

Thursday the 7th

A Date With the night of a 1000 Drawings. 1000 Drawings is arguably the best fundraising event on any events calender. With a unique experience which encompasses drawing, an exhibition, grafitti battles and some of the best local acts, all in the name of charity – It’s difficult to argue otherwise. This instalment takes place at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre with performances by The Stellas, Fspot, Impane Core and Carri Wolf.  R30 is a bargain for the entertainment on offer. Doodle for a difference on a budget.

Friday the 8th

This is also one of ours. Visit the page for all the details. It’s Nothing Major.

Saturday the 9th

It’s the middle of exam season and Just Music are providing a valid reason why you shouldn’t be studying on a Saturday. The independent label is hosting a Study Break at Arcade Empire with The Anti Retro Vinyls, Tailor, Nakhane toure and Bye Beneco on the bill. Dance You’re on Fire have recently announced an indefinite hiatus, so this may represent their final live performance ever, at least for a while. You bring the tigers, we’ll bring the box.

Sunday the 10th

Family lunches and days of reflection are becoming archaic rapidly. Besides there’s a mirror at Gin you could use for reflection and they have a mean platter to share. Summer has just begun and so to The Sunday Sessions. Expect some chilled lounge, deep house and electro swing for a selection of sounds suited for a day of reflection.
