The New Republic
We experienced our first taste of Mieliepop last year when the festival celebrated its fifth edition. The adventure was filled with a variety moments which collaboratively saw us adding the boutique festival to our list of must-attends. Each moment was only further augmented by the boutique peripheries which included an exquisite location, a varied line-up appropriate for any taste, and most importantly the right amount of good people.
Unlike the fate of a few other local festivals, Mieliepop is coming back this year for its sixth installment. 2017 is the year the boutique festival becomes a republic. The team has put in the yards and the little assembly in Tolderia now stands toe-to-toe alongside the best South Africa has to in outdoor music experiences.

The Republic of Mieliepop takes place at Tolderia Resort in Mpumalanga over 4 days starting on the 17th of March. The republic will host 60 acts performing across 5 stages featuring the likes of Bye Beneco, Kid Robot, Rudeboyz, Ella G, Pop Art Live and more.
