The long-awaited collaboration between Youngsta and Ganja Beatz
Cape Town-based lyrical juggernaut Youngsta and production trio Ganja Beatz have finally released their long-awaited collaborative EP The Cape And Good Dope. The collaboration comes hot on the trail of their massive hit song ‘I Dunno’, which the supergroup dropped back in May. Combine Youngsta’s super slick lyrical prowess with Ganja Beatz’ proven track record of making hits and you have yourself a pretty good 40 minutes worth of a listening experience.
The EP also features frequent collaborator $tilo Magolide, the rapper formerly known as Tumi from the Volume, Stogie T and one third of Ganja Beatz Heemal (who apparently also raps and goes by GNJZ).
The 14 tracks includes standout tracks like ‘In The Cupboard’ the opening song, the catalyst for the collabo ‘I Dunno’ and ‘Wees-Kaap’ a cover of Dr. Dre’s The ‘Next Episode’.
It marks a great close to a strong 2016 for the 24-year-old MC who’s been on a solid run for about three years now. At some point he released 24 mixtapes in less than two years and dropped 20 videos last year as part of his Visual Vrydag series. Add the outstanding showings he’s had with $tilo on ‘Sleep is for the Rich’, ‘Pose Like Stilo’ and ‘Every Thug’ which just makes me all the more excited for the collaborative project I hope they’re working on.
